The Freak Inside: Author Aparna Upadhyaya Sanyal on her debut book and looking beyond the surface
These tales are interconnected because the characters of the story meet every different at exclusive points in time. The title of the ebook is "interchanged" she says as commonly people use the terms, village oldsters and circus freaks. But Sanyal interchanged the terms as her e book deals with the different elements of human nature, from darkness to joy inner humans's hearts. Sanyal says that the humans performing in the circus have purer hearts and are more humane than the world which goes via external look alone. "What I have tried to expose is that in case you look inside you can discover which you are the freak and that circus freak who you watched is a monster is surely a first rate individual. I even have attempted to maintain up a reflect and display truth. It's now not just about the faults in people, but the power and ability that lies within." The e book deals with topics of sexuality, caste, hierarchical gadget, in a different way abled people, mental health, racism, classism, and feminism. One of the stories from the book which, Sanyal says, makes her emotional is of Murugan. He's an astrologer, who's superstitious and bears the trauma of the caste system. "After I wrote it, it made me cry as it goes thru a very dark section and has many layers to it. It deals with superstition and the way as a society we are led by means of it. It also deals with the caste device and the trauma of being a parent. These three troubles left an effect on me." Sanyal, whose poetry has been featured in global literary journals including Smartish Pace, Dunes Review, Typehouse and Literary Review, launched her e book in Mumbai. On Sunday, she will be able to launch it in Pune with a dramatised poetry overall performance on the Monalisa Kalagram, Koregaon Park, at 6.30pm. Dailyhunt
