Raatchasan movie review: Intimidating and disturbing
Unfortunately, numerous producers citing the motive that the script is being too serious and dark turn it down. This in all likelihood appears to the inspired by director Ram Kumar's actual existence. To placed it in his phrases -'I desired to make this script as my first movie and I had at least met 20 manufacturers who refused to make it as they felt it's miles grim and gloomy'. Owing to the stress from his mom and brother-in-law (Ramadoss) who's a cop, Arun takes up a activity inside the police branch, which he receives out of compassionate quota. Though he reluctantly starts offevolved his task, a chain of murders regarding 15-year-old ladies in a ghastly manner takes location within the town, and Arun comes to a decision to research the cases. With his research coming in handy, Arun quick realizes that it's miles the work of a psycho killer. But his ego bloated superior officer Lakshmy (Susan) might now not take delivery of his theory and asks him to keep away from the case. Meanwhile, Arun faces a personal loss and the way he unravels the reality and pins down the killer forms the reminder, with the screenplay presenting a great dose of twists and turns. Vishnu Vishal who has the flair for selecting exceptional scripts proves his versatility. With his fitting frame to healthy the role, he has given a first rate feat. All the identical, he uses his brain in preference to brawn to investigate the case. He is equally astounding in emotional scenes. Amala Paul who performs a teacher and romantic hobby (sans a romantic tune) of Vishnu is pretty much good enough in a small function. Ramadoss is a revelation and is a scene-stealer. All others Susan, Kaali Venkat and the women do their element well. The first half is distressing and what is the want for the character of a perverted male trainer Inbaraj and the scenes involving his lady college students? Perhaps, Ram Kumar wanted to divert the attention from the real wrongdoer. However, there may be a message to dad and mom in the ones segment. Also, the returned-story of why the character turns a psycho killer in not very convincing. On the entire, the narrative is spine chilling and the climax movement quantities are captured in a exciting manner. Ghibran's track particularly his intriguing history rating affords the last thrill thing. PV Shankar's cinematography raises the anxiety. The film is bit long and an urgent trimming is wanted.
