Hyderabad: Kin of stalwarts fail to make a mark at polls
He lost in 2014 and this time lost by a 16,004-vote margin. Mr Tulla Veerender Goud, son of TD leader Devender Goud, lost from Uppal to TRS leader Bethi Subhas Reddy. He was contesting from the TD and lost by a margin of 4,8168 votes. In 2014, he contested for the first time for the Lok Sabha from Chevella constituency from the TD and lost. Mr Anil Kumar Yadav, son of former Secunderabad Congress MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, lost in Musheerabad by a margin of 36,910 votes to Mr Muta Gopal of the TRS. During the campaign, the fathers campaigned for their kin. Ms Nandamuri Suhasini was the unexpected nominee whose candidature was announced weeks ahead of the elections. She comes from the lineage of TD founder N.T. Rama Rao and Harikrishna, a former MP. There was keen interest in both states on the Kukatpally seat from where she contested. Minister K.T. Rama Rao campaigned at least four times in the constituency and this is being attributed to Ms Suhasini's defeat. She lost to Mr Madhavaram Krishna Rao of the TRS by a margin of 41,049 votes. ...
